How will we achieve100% literacy in India ?

Question:

Mr. Nahid Raza-The National UN Volunteer:

How will we achieve100% literacy in India?

Answers:

• Mr. Alok Kumar Mohanty-The National UN Volunteer:
Literacy and education are two different things. One might be educated because of his/her experience but may not be literate ( to read & write). To enhance literacy our govt is running Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. However, engagement with people in village, town level during their free time, beginning to link literacy with the day to day functioning may help.

• Mrs Sunita Singh:
There are lot many initiative govt has taken to bring 100% literacy rate .
Question is will all these initiative of govt would achieve the target ? I think no - because if there is no will to gain education we can not instil it in any one . So not only motivation but govt has to create such environment for every ine where they can attain education with out stress and fear . Some kind of motivation as mr . Anand kumar initiated in patna - The Super 30 .  If basic need would be fulfilled then only people would take interest in being literate.

• Mr. Anand Kumar UNV:
Best solution I feel is 'EACH ONE TEACH ONE.' But it requires lot of moral character and patriotism.

•  MrsSuman Purohit Das UNV:
Our aim of 100% literacy in India is only achieved by reaching out to the one in need. We need to identify and seriously take action for why children are not being sent to schools in remote areas, slum areas and villages. Regular tracking of all government programmes for free education, teachers reporting, quality teaching etc in such area schools must be assessed on priority basis. *Empower educationists to handle schools rather than business tycoons*. Need to eradicate the evil corruption. Zero corruption in employment sector is expected. Mandatory 25% admission to bpl children in every school, just not on papers to showcase. Promote girl child education to achieve this target.

• Mrs Farhana UNV:
Uneducated once should be educated by Educated once without out any fee with mercy. By imposing strict actions on those who prevent girl child to go to school. Running compulsory mass adult education campaign , and offering free education to all.

• Dr Shakila Banu UNV: India is a land of villages, education must spread to villages educate  them and encourage them to take up jobs in towns nd cities. Girls should be allowed to get education provide them all the facilities should check drop outs.

Why Schools should create social responsibility to drive change?

Why Schools should create social responsibility to drive change? A school plays a vital role in the child’s development. Children get their formal education in a school. Schools need to promote the education which is meaningful and has to be fit into the framework of the society. Today’s children will grow up and become future adults of our society. Hence if today’s children are not made aware of their social responsibility towards the community then the social issues or problem will grow more and more. There is an urgent need to foster strong mental and social health amongst today’s children so that they can connect with their peers, their elders, the community, the environment, etc. School education must empower children to be active citizens, caring, responsible and compassionate human beings. As the children spend most of the time in school, hence schools must promote the activities to sensitize children towards social responsibility to bring positive change in the soci

Preparedness: Development of Disaster Management Skills in students

Preparedness: Development of Disaster Management Skills in students  Education is not only assimilation of information and imparting bookish knowledge to students but that information and knowledge must be applied either for earning livelihood or saving life from any unforeseen disaster. Our curriculum covers all areas of learning through skilful education. With this purpose a textbook on disaster management, “Together towards safer India Part-III” is applied in class X course. We teach all kinds of drills such as fire evacuation, earthquake evacuation, flood evacuation etc. We explain and demonstrate all survival skills, safe construction practices, communication during disasters and sharing responsibilities. Schools are giving emphasis on practical drills while teaching such content. In past we have witnessed many unforeseen fire tragedies where the children were being involved, like the fire tragedy of Kumbakonam in which 93 children charred to death, Dabwali fire acciden

Blog write up by Mrs Suman Purohit Das mlearning: An Innovative Pedagogical Tool With the advancement of educational technology, our teaching-learning process has faced the utmost changing trends. The classroom technology trends are changing so swiftly and speedily that the teachers and educators have to keep themselves equipped to meet the expectations of a diverse classroom for optimum learning. 21st century Gen Z is born with technology in hand, that’s why these children are known as “Digital Natives”. If we do not bring innovative technology to the classrooms then our classrooms will be dull, boring and it will be difficult to engage and excite children for learning in future. Teachers have to embed technology into their innovative instructional planning. Around 5 years back on the name of educational technology, most of the schools had started changing their chalk & black boards into digital/interactive boards so called “Smart Boards”.
