Should moral values be taught or preached in schools.

Should moral values be taught or preached in schools.
Value/Moral education a graded co-scholastic subject in our school curriculum . Set of stories are assigned to class each month. In addition to this, schools also focus on implementation of these values foretold, each month one value is picked up to be point of focus,  like honesty, compassion, love & care, self-respect so on.
“Why is MORAL EDUCATION a part of our curriculum? The answer is very simple.’ “Preparing Our Children For Future Roles In Society”
Now, to do this groundwork . To prepare children today to shoulder the  future responsibility, is teaching moral values sufficient or should it be preached ?
What is Teaching?
Teaching is all about imparting new ideas and knowledge to the students in the classroom. Teaching, traditionally, involves reading the text and explaining the passages from the texts and also use of techniques such as demonstration, discussions, watching documentaries, enacting pieces of literature, researching, etc.

What is Preaching?
Preaching, is imparting the concepts of religion and morals. Preaching involves using a very emotional or passionate sort of language in order to address the audience.
A noted and common saying  ‘practice what you preach’  and ‘learn what you teach’.
To inculcate the values in children, one has to know the best technique to impart.
Moral values should be learnt and practiced to inculcate within one’s self.
Every topic in any subject has some value. For example ,demonstrating an experiment in science. Here one needs patience, perseverance, respect towards the work so on. If the values are pointed out and highlighted with anecdotes or stories during the teaching sessions, not only children enjoy learning the concepts taught but also imbibe the values highlighted during the session.
So, all teachers are involved in imparting the moral ethics to the children rather than an assigned teacher teaching the moral lessons in alloted period. . It is essential for a teacher not only to pass on the information from the text books but also make children saviour the essence of information. By doing so, no doubt teachers shoulder the responsibility of a preacher to shape, mould and produce a good human being to the society.
Today,  schools need to focus on values like  empathy, unconditional love and kindness, honesty, respect and hard work. All the other values, will automatically assimilate in a child’s conscience.
